BiCMOS Technology

BiCMOS Technology

The need for high-performance, low-power, and low-cost systems for network transport and wireless communications is driving silicon technology toward higher speed, higher integration, and more functionality. Further more, this integration of RF and analog mixed-signal circuits into high-performance digital signal-processing (DSP) systems must be done with minimum cost overhead to be commercially viable. While some analog and RF designs have been attempted in mainstream digital-only complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technologies, almost all designs that require stringent RF performance use bipolar or semiconductor technology. Silicon integrated circuit (IC) products that, at present, require modern bipolar or BiCMOS silicon technology in wired application space include the essential optical network (SONET) and synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) operating at 10 Gb/s and higher. The viability of a mixed digital/analog. RF chip depends on the cost of making the silicon with the required elements; in practice, it must approximate the cost of the CMOS wafer, Cycle times for processing the wafer should not significantly exceed cycle times for a digital CMOS wafer. Yields of the SOC chip must be similar to those of a multi-chip implementation. Much of this article will examine process techniques that achieve the objectives of low cost, rapid cycle time, and solid yield

Energy transmission system for an artificial heart- leakage inductance compensation

Energy transmission system for an artificial heart- leakage inductance compensation

A power supply system using a transcutaneous transformer to power an artificial heart through intact skin has been designed. In order to realize both high-voltage gain and minimum circulating current, compensation of leakage inductances on both sides of a transcutaneous transformer is proposed. A frequency region which realizes the robustness against coupling coefficient and load variation is identified. In this region, the converter has inherent advantages such as zerovoltage switching (ZVS) or zero-current switching (ZCS) of the switches, high-voltage gain, minimum circulating current, and high efficiency. Artificial heart, energy transmission system, high efficiency, high-frequency converter, high-power density, high-voltage gain, inductance compensation, soft-switched converter, transcutaneous transformer, zero-current switching (ZCS), zero-voltage switching

ASSYMETRIC DIGITAL SUBSCRIBER LINE (ADSL)

ASSYMETRIC DIGITAL SUBSCRIBER LINE (ADSL)

ABSTRACT
Digital Subscriber Lines (DSL) are used to deliver high-rate digital data over existing ordinary phone-lines. A new modulation technology called Discrete Multitone (DMT) allows the transmission of high speed data. DSL facilitates the simultaneous use of normal telephone services, ISDN, and high speed data transmission, e.g., video. DMT-based DSL can be seen as the transition from existing copper-lines to the future fiber-cables. This makes DSL economically interesting for the local telephone companies. They can offer customers high speed data services even before switching to fiber-optics.
DSL is a newly standardized transmission technology facilitating simultaneous use of normal telephone services, data transmission of 6 M bit/s in the downstream and Basic- rate Access (BRA). DSL can be seen as a FDM system in which the available bandwidth of a single copper-loop is divided into three parts. The base band occupied by POTS is split from the data channels by using a method which guarantees POTS services in the case of ADSL-system failure (e.g. passive filters).

AUDIO SPOTLIGHTING

ABSTRACT

Audio spot lighting is a very recent technology that creates focused beams of sound similar to light beams coming out of a flashlight. By ‘shining’ sound to one location, specific listeners can be targeted with sound without others nearby hearing it. It uses a combination of non-linear acoustics and some fancy mathematics. But it is real and is fine to knock the socks of any conventional loud speaker. This acoustic device comprises a speaker that fires inaudible ultrasound pulses with very small wavelength which act in a manner very similar to that of a narrow column. The ultra sound beam acts as an airborne speaker and as the beam moves through the air gradual distortion takes place in a predictable way due to the property of non-linearity of air. This gives rise to audible components that can be accurately predicted and precisely controlled. Joseph Pompei’s Holosonic Research Labs invented the Audio Spotlight that is made of a sound processor, an amplifier and the transducer. The American Technology Corporation developed the Hyper Sonic Sound-based Directed Audio Sound System. Both use ultrasound based solutions to beam sound into a focused beam. Audio spotlight can be either directed at a particular listener or to a point where it is reflected.
The targeted or directed audio technology is going to a huge commercial market in entertainment and consumer electronics and technology developers are scrambling to tap in to the market. Being the most recent and dramatic change in the way we perceive sound since the invention of coil loud speaker, audio spot light technology can do many miracles in various fields like Private messaging system, Home theatre audio system, Navy and military applications, museum displays, ventriloquist systems etc. Thus audio spotlighting helps us to control where sound comes from and where it goes!

Electromagnetic bombs

Electromagnetic bombs are Weapons of Electrical Mass Destruction with applications across a broad spectrum of targets, spanning both the strategic and tactical. As such their use offers a very high payoff in attacking the fundamental information processing and communication facilities of a target system. The massed application of these weapons will produce substantial paralysis in any target system, thus providing a decisive advantage in the conduct of Electronic Combat, Offensive Counter Air and Strategic Air Attack. Generators would be useless, cars wouldn’t run, and there would be no chance of making a phone call. In a matter of seconds, a big enough e-bomb could thrust an entire city back 200 years or cripple a military unit. The basic principle used in an e-bomb is electromagnetic pulse effectEMP effect can result in irreversible damage to a wide range of electrical and electronic equipment, particularly computers and radio or radar etc. having military importance. Commercial computer equipment is particularly vulnerable to EMP effects. The technology base which may be applied to the design of electromagnetic bombs is both diverse, and in many areas quite mature. Key technologies which are extant in the area are explosively pumped Flux Compression Generators (FCG), explosive or propellant driven Magneto-Hydrodynamic (MHD) generators and a range of HPM devices, the foremost of which is the Virtual Cathode Oscillator or Vircator

 Data Compression Techniques
Data compression is the technique of converting an input data stream or the original data into another data stream which is shorter in length. There are many known methods for data compression. They are based on different ideas and are suitable for different types of data. But they all have the same principle that they compress data by removing the redundancy in the original data. Otherwise data compression can be looked up on as a change in representation from inefficient to efficient form.

 CT scanning
CT scanning – computed tomography is a mechanism of getting the internal details of a section. It is a diagonostic imaging procedure in which anatomical information is digitally reconstructed from X-ray transmission data obtained by scanning an area from many directions in the same plane to visualize information in that plane. CT is a fast patient friendly and has the unique ability to image a combination of soft tissue, bone, lungs and blood vessels.

 Computer Clothing
There is a major movement going on in the electronics and computer industries to develop wearable devices for what’s being called Post-PC era. We are now at the dawn of that era and some of these devices are already making their way to the consumer market .Computerized clothes will be the next step in making computers and devices portable without having to strap electronics into our body. These digital clothes will able to perform some of the PC functions. These devices are small in size and portable. This apparel can be used to read our heart rate and breathing. The LED monitors could even be integrated into this apparel to display text and images.

Artist know that it is part of the game to be constantly exposed to everybody’s looks 24 Hours. For this reason, they spend an amazing amount of time in improving their looks. Now we know, thought, that bottox is not everything in Hollywood…let’s dig into some of its most well kept beauty secrets:

-         Supermodel Cindy Crawford moisturizes her skin constantly; she takes her atomizer everywhere. It contains the exact same amount quantities of mineral water and milk.
-         Jennifer Love Hewitt fights acne with tooth paste. She applies it on her spots before going to bed and says they are gone the next morning.
-         Demi Moore goes beyond that, being 16 years older than her husband Ashton Kutcher, she resorts to…leeches! Ex Bruce Willis’ wife says that after getting used to the bites, she could feel how her blood became toxins free.
-         Another actress, Catherine Zeta Jones keeps her teeth pure white by brushing them with crushed strawberries; and she moistures her hair with olive oil. Does she spend a lot of time in the kitchen?
-         Nicole Kidman gives her hair blueberry baths to keep it smooth and glossy and Julia Roberts dips her nails in olive oil to keep them healthy and strong.
-         Penelope Cruz sleeps eight hours a day and avoids caffeine, and Shakira mixes honey, sugar and lemon to scrub her body.

-         And the one that can’t help but mentioning is the one that has the recipe for eternal youth…Madonna. Always at the forefront, not only music-wise, but because she was one of the first ones to use Pilates. Hers is a microbiotic diet, she does not eat meat, wheat or sugar. She never sunbathes and treats her skin with diamond edges twice a month. But that is not all…her ex-husband, Guy Ritchie, revealed that before going to bed, Madonna covers her body with moisturizing creams and then gets dressed in a thermo suit that potentiates the moisturizing effects.
-         Victoria Beckham does something similar. She applies cream to her hand and feet and wears gloves and socks in bed.
It is neither simple nor natural, isn’t it? Investing in these little secrets take a great deal of time, money and perseverance; however, and even when it sound like a cliché, when it’s time to go out, it is our attitude that counts the most…and having people that love us just the way we are.

Your hair is the glory of their beauty, dignity and personality. The association with health and the hair is lifelong, and hair is one of the very few things about you that is very passionate about. Naturally, you are very concerned about the growth and well being of your hair. A number of factors such as genetics, hormones, nutrition, lifestyle and environment influence growth of hair and good health. It’s the first thing that people notice, and one of the qualities that contribute to our physical appearance. No wonder that good hair care is always a major concern to anyone who knows how important it is to maintain healthy hair fabulous. To learn more about the methods excellent in hair care, here are some basics of hair care you will find useful. As the hair is composed of a protein, keratin, your diet should contain sufficient amounts of protein as lean meat, fish, eggs, yogurt, peas, nuts and beans. In addition to protein, vitamins, particularly B complex vitamins are essential for hair. Play an important role in restoring the health of hair.

Iron, zinc, sulfur, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus and iodine are some of the important minerals necessary for optimal hair growth. Apathy and iron prevents the fragility of the hair, while the iodine and sulfur play a protective role by helping functioning and use of vitamins of group B. Iodine is unavoidable for the proper functioning of the thyroid gland that stimulates hair growth. Your diet must contain adequate amounts of fresh fruits and vegetables that provide the body with huge supplies of minerals, vitamins, enzymes and tone your overall health and improve hair growth. Different diets, hair care and regular conditioning are very important to maintain healthy hair growth. Conditioning must be applied weekly or fortnightly and only professionals should be used.
Vitamins B12, B6 and B5 are also ideal for hair. Therefore, be sure to get a lot of nutrition for the hair, if you are using human hair wig – making. And, of course, the nutritional benefits your body will also be a great thing for your overall health. It is usually two to three months to see the results of its new vitamin regime – that is, if your hair is in good condition at the time. Ask a nutritionist about the specific doses of these and other vitamins you may need. It is also a good idea to find out how the condition of your hair is appreciated by people you can sell or donate their hair to human hair wig – making. You may think that your hair is in great shape and find that it is not. However, you can find it – the hair is in good condition. You may discover that your hair is in poor condition, and vitamins that you need should be there before you can donate your hair.
It is logical to protect your hair to improve their general condition. Even sometimes it can prevent the cutting speed of hair growth to the extent that it will take much longer to grow enough hair to sell or give to any charity. It is common for short hair, of course, to maintain the nutrients that are secreted by an oily build – until, of course, is delivered by the scalp. When you brush your hair oily secretion that is distributed in the rest of your hair. you think a proper diet is for the body, you are wrong. Eat nutritious foods also contribute to hair healthy and shiny. Including foods rich in protein (lean meat, fish, dairy products, eggs) in their daily intake in the diet helps the process of hair growth. This is the reason why some vegetarians who do not include protein in your diet experience hair thinning. Foods rich in vitamins A, B and C, are therefore vital to the health of the hair roots and scalp. You can find these vitamins in most red, yellow and orange vegetables, cod liver oil, nuts, seeds and fruits such as citrus, oranges, pineapples, apples and tomatoes.

Skin Care plays quite a big role in beauty and keeping your image and this involves the techniques with which you use for cleaning. Washing the face is indeed a sensitive matter as this may well end the occurrence of wrinkles. Since wrinkles tend to strain the facial muscles, it is good to know how to stave them off when they try to form on the face. Numerous skin products have been put out in the market in recent years and it may be important to consult the services of an expert in the beauty market before buying any facial soap or lotions.
With many sebaceous glands being harbored under the skin of the human face, this tends to be the oiliest part of the skin. The industry has come up with a number of creams that create a protective film around the face in the case of air pollutants that may affect your skin tone. Aggressive cleaning is, however, needed at the end of the day to make sure that the skin is completely free of the pollutants.
Since the facial skin has quite a thin outer layer, it is one of the most sensitive parts of the body thus severe scrubbing may cause the facial skin a lot of irritation. When washing the face, it will be important to choose a cleanser that is mild to the facial nerve endings. Thus you are able to take care of the residue and let your face enjoy the airiness.
When washing the face, one should not use the same soap that they use for bathing their bodies. Liquid body wash agents do not count in the practice of facial cleansing. Anyhow, facial cleansing is quite a simple process and becomes fun with perfection.
The face needs the mildest of soaps and sometimes it is not even necessary to use any soap on the face, which is unless you are shaving since this needs lather. Otherwise when proceeding to the cleaning, you may need to wash your hands first before you start the proper cleaning. Without the facial soap, a face cloth comes in quite handy, worthy of note also is that it is not a good thing to wash your face with cold water. Water that has been warmed a bit makes sense for the hygiene of your skin. This wipes of the dirt from the face as much as it will soothe off the irritation on the facial nerves. The face cloth is already embedded with soap and therefore it eliminates the need for using the soap.
One may consider using new tools put out in the market in the recent past, this includes the electric toothbrush which has proved to be quite efficient in taking care of residue that may settle on the face in your daily goings-on.
Non-foam cleaners also work a whole load of wonders since they don’t leave your face coated with any chemicals after use. Also remember to use your fingers to gently massage your facial muscles.

Eyebrows define and accentuate the features of the face. Well kept eyebrows will automatically transform the face and the eyes making a person to generally look good. The shape of one’s eyebrows can actually give a certain look to the face. For instance those with a sharp curve will give an impression of a surprised look while a flat straight line suggests a calm look.
For men taking care of one’s eyebrows is not given much concern and involves just brushing them regularly so that they look neat although those with bushy eyebrows can slightly trim them to shape. But for most women well-shaped eyebrows are a beauty routine that is performed regularly just like other beauty treatments.
Beautify your Eyebrows
For beautiful eyebrows, one should ensure that the trimming is done in such a way that the natural shape of the eyebrows is maintained. But with the many upcoming brow shapes, a beauty expert can recommend another shape that can work depending on the shape of one’s face.
Before trimming the eyebrows, it’s advisable to draw an outline separate the wanted and unwanted hairs. This ensures that the shaving is done in line and that both eyes acquire a similar shape. After the trimming, the brows should then be oiled and brushed to give them a classy finish.
There are many ways of trimming the eyebrows. The cheapest method is using a sharp razor or a scalpel. This can be easily done at home without necessarily the help of a beauty expert. This method although easy can be very risky especially if the razor is not well sterilized. It’s therefore important to ensure that one uses a new razor and thoroughly sterilizers it to avoid the risk of infections. Care should also be taken not to injure the sensitive eye skin. After shaving it takes a period of two weeks before it grows again.
Another trimming method is using a twizzer. This is equipment is specifically made for this purpose and it involves removal of the unwanted eyebrows strand by strand. The method is quite painful but because the hairs are removed from the root, it takes long before they can grow again thus a better shape for longer.  It’s also quite safe as chances of injury are very low.
hair removal eyebrows
The other method is waxing the unwanted eyebrows. This is a very painful method which involves use of an adhesive kind of material that is put on the part of the eyebrows to be removed. It’s then pulled off in a quick motion which causes the skin around the eyebrow to be stretched up. Although very painful, it’s very rewarding as it takes a period of about two months before another trim and is also very safe.
Summary
Trimming eyebrows will not guarantee that perfect look if the correct after-shave care is not accorded. The eyebrows should be regularly oiled and should be brushed on daily basis in order to keep their shape and they should be re-trimmed whenever stray hairs grow.

The white bumps that form under the eyes is what is called milia. They are similar to whiteheads but the difference is that milia bumps do not have on the surface of the skin an opening. Milia are usually filed with keratin. This is a hard white substance and there is no need of freaking out since they are not dangerous neither are they life threatening. Maybe what you will have to worry about is that they may be annoying when you are looking to have a flawless, fresh looking face.
It is essential to take care of your body everyday, and this should be a priority before anything else. Taking care of the body helps to prevent diseases and all your body organs must be cared for. All the body organs are essential, because without one our bodies will not function as they are supposed to. For instance without proper care of your eyes, you may be infected with several eye diseases which you could have otherwise get rid of. Proper eye care is needed every day if you are keen at keeping your organs and the body at large free of diseases.
Taking care of your overall body from the eyes, skin, nails to the feet is a sure way of staying healthy. Most people have tried to understand the causes of white bumps forming under the eyes. They form when sebum oil and dead skin cells are trapped under the top layer of the skin. These cells thus turn into tiny cysts that will look like white beads that form just the skin surface. This can occur even on the skin, inner cheek, mucous membrane or even the border of your lips. Under normal conditions, these whiteheads will rapture and get lost but millia form a thin cover that results in a cyst and thus will not rapture naturally.
In addition this can be caused by a condition known as Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis. They agree that this is caused by two components: an immunological reaction and a mechanical reaction that are caused by the lenses we wear. For the immunological reaction is when there is deposits that build up on the lenses. This may be caused by your own tear lipids, preservatives use for the lenses, environmental allergens that accumulates on the lenses and in some cases the material that is used in making the lenses.
Even though Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis is much less endemic today, it poses a major eye irritant that can cause the eyes to form white bumps. One can therefore effectively manage Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis by switching to daily disposable lenses that get rid of the coating in totality since these types of lenses are thrown away daily and are not exposed to disinfecting solution. Most people have this condition because they have been wearing their contact lenses beyond the replacement cycle and maybe are sometimes slow or less frequent in cleaning the lenses.

Cleansing is a very important step in skin care and unlike soaps; cleansers will help you get rid of makeup and impurities from your face without removing your skin’s natural oils. Cleansers are usually applied on the skin and rinsed or wiped off to leave the skin moisturized.
There are various cleansers available in the market in form of foams, lotions and creams to suit all types of skin. If you are looking for a cleanser that will pamper your skin to leave you feeling like you just went to the spa, you should try a warming cleanser. Warming cleansers are self heating and are made using unique formulas that combine the potential of facial washes and the relaxing feeling you get after a spa treatment.
The formulations use micro-beads which are then activated to warm your skin. When the skin is warmed, the pores open up allowing the cleanser to clean deeper. Apart from cleansing, warming cleansers also have other benefits that include exfoliating and moisturizing. This means that with a warming cleanser, you get all the skin care treatments in one product.
Some of the warming cleansers have Aloe Vera, antioxidants and vitamins that help to revitalize your skin. They are also a great idea for those who do not have the time or money to go to a salon or spa treatment to get facials.
These cleansers also work well for those who have blackheads and most of them are oil free and this makes them great for those with oily skin. Some warming cleansers have a medicinal scent while others have a fruity once. If you suffer from acne, warming cleansers will be a great benefit because they remove the oils and dirt that clogs the pores which is one of the causes of acne.
When you buy a warming cleanser, it is important to note that a little will go a long way therefore all you need is a small amount. Wet your face before using a warming cleanser and then dry your hands and put some of it on your palm. The cleanser should be massaged over the entire face and neck then rinsed out thoroughly. It is not advisable to use the product in the shower because it does not work well when it gets into contact with water. The warming cleanser begins heating up as soon as you start massaging it on your skin therefore you should be careful if you have sensitive skin. Unlike other cleansers that might lather on your skin, these warming cleansers do not lather. They spread evenly on your skin and feel thick and heavy but once you rinse if off, it leaves your skin clean. Your skin will not end up feeling squeaky when you use it because it does not remove any natural oils.
One of the active ingredients in these warming cleansers is salicylic acid which is one of the reasons why it works very well for those who suffer from acne and blackheads.
